DIARY: Fame, fortune - and probably a few pervs - all await lovely Kate

Yet again we have spotted wannabe famous folk whose alter-egos are strait-laced civilians working in advertising agencies.

Yet again we have spotted wannabe famous folk whose alter-egos are

strait-laced civilians working in advertising agencies.

Campaign’s Web Meister stumbled across the gorgeous Kate Bird on Bravo’s

Website, where she’s vying for stardom as Bravo’s Webcam girl. She’s

also hoping to launch a career as a TV presenter and, so far, has

appeared on the Big Breakfast, Channel 5’s Exclusive! and in several

daily newspapers. Kate, it seems, is currently working as a receptionist

at a London ad agency but, sadly, the name of the agency isn’t revealed

on the Website.

When Campaign spoke to Kate, she didn’t sound too chuffed at the idea of

fame, having had the press camp out on her doorstep. Bearing this in

mind, we’ve decided not to reveal where she works, although feel free to

visit the Bravo Website (www.bravo.co.uk) to vote for her.

In contrast, Benjamin Newbold, a media planner at Bray Leino in Devon,

is looking forward to having people camping out on his doorstep. He’s

been voted one of Company magazine’s 50 most eligible bachelors in its

February issue - a title which brings fame and, at the very least, a

couple of blind dates.

Newbold describes himself as ’troublesome, naughty, adventurous and

kind’ and is also happy to admit that he is a bit of a tart.

When Campaign spoke to him and recapped his answers, he confided that he

wasn’t too sure of what he’d said because he’d got drunk on the way to

the interview.

That might explain why he said that he was looking for a girlfriend who

is a mate as well, and that looks didn’t matter.
