Diary: Five girls hit the heights in Nabs summer netball

The girls from five TV showed The Times how to look good in a netball skirt at last Friday's Nabs Netball Tournament.

In a fiercely competitive final match, five TV beat the newspaper giant by nine goals to seven.

The girls' victory would have definitely washed away any sore memories from April when Tequila knocked the defending champions five TV out in the quarter final of the Nabs Rugby 7s tournament.

But although there were tears of sorrow then, the tears were definitely of joy this time around as the girls triumphed at the Millennium Arena in Battersea Park.

The tournament, which closes Nabs' summer of sport events, raised £13,600 for the charity, up £5,000 on last year's total.

But it wasn't all whoops of joy and high fives in Battersea Park. Last year's champions from John Ayling & Associates were beaten by DDB London by eight goals to seven, when the runners-up from the group stages went head to head with each other.

And to add insult to injury, DDB London's Kristy Schwind was named Player of the Tournament.
