Diary: Heart FM pitch probes new depths for 'buzz'

As new-business pitches go, you might have thought the one for Heart FM would rank among the easiest for agencies to crack. After all, you just have to look at the heritage of the work for this ultimate middle-of-the-road station. The most recent campaign featured Heart's breakfast-show DJs, the professional Australian fattie "Jono" Coleman and his sidekick Harriet Scott, engaged in a show of mutual appreciation.

Coleman: "You're the funniest person I've ever met."

Scott: "No, you are."

In an attempt to highlight the point that it wants its advertising to have a buzz about it, Heart FM has sent the agencies pitching for the account a vibrator (buzz, geddit?) to help with the creative process.

We plead with the agencies not to take this too literally by using the vibrator with Coleman and Scott in their pitch submissions.
