Get a fag on and you'll be more creative, cleverer and have more friends, advertising's answer to Stephen Fry writes in the latest issue of Raconteur.

He even goes so far as to blame the eurozone crisis on the smoking ban, saying: "The Greeks used to be heroic smokers and, I don't know if you've noticed this, but since the smoking ban, they haven't been doing nearly so well." Smoking, along with behavioural economics and ill-fitting tweed jackets, is a passion for Sutherland. Or is he just angling for a shot at the latest British American Tobacco pitch?
