’We were staying in one of the university colleges and, after a few

drinks, I decided that going clubbing was a far better option than

hitting the sack.’

For those of you who didn’t go to Cambridge University (and I know there

aren’t many), the colleges are locked at night. But that wasn’t going to

stop Pratt who, in a bid for freedom, decided to swing around the gate

pillar and over the adjacent river.

Two minutes later, a sodden Pratt was clambering out of the filthy water

feeling slightly less like painting the town red.

The following night, Pratt started to feel ill and, thinking he might

have been infected by some lurgie that had been lurking in the Cam,

sought medical attention.

At hospital, the doctors gravely informed him the real cause of his woe

was a kidney stone, and the only way to get rid of it was through his

smallest orifice.

’Derek held his nerve, did what had to be done and still went on to give

a great presentation,’ said MBS Media’s Steve Husband.
