Diary: It's porn and practical jokes aplenty at McCann

The McCann Erickson creative Chris McDonald discovered the downside of having a similar name to his boss when an unsavoury e-mail from two of his creative colleagues was sent to the wrong man.

After the e-mail, which included a link to a dirty film, pinged on to the screen of the chief executive, Chris Macdonald, the agency's executive creative directors, Brian Fraser and Simon Learman, grabbed the golden opportunity to wind up the sendees.

Not only did they give them a bollocking, they inserted a fake meeting into their diaries for the following day with the head of human resources and called in IT to freeze their accounts and remove their computers.

Thinking their days at the agency were numbered, the culprits that evening headed to the pub to drown their sorrows, only for Fraser and Learman to finally break the news that it had all been a prank.
