DIARY: It's time for some hot Lisbon action as sexy ads fight for a Fig Leaf

Now, no sniggering at the back please, but entries are now being sought for advertising's annual smut fest, err, we mean the Lisbon Erotic Advertising Festival.

Yes, it will soon be time for the good people of Lisbon to lock up their daughters, sons, grandparents, dogs and anything else with a pulse as advertising's dirty mac brigade descends on the city in the hope of winning a Fig Leaf.

This is the third year of the festival and ad agencies, photographers and production companies are invited to delve into their files to find their most erotic spot to submit for, among others, the home and office and vehicles and accessories classes. The president of the jury is Gianfranco Moretti, the chief creative officer of Leo Burnett Italy.

Last year, the Italians conformed to stereotype and won six of the 13 awards on offer, the French five, while the British proved true the adage that we'd rather have a nice cup of tea by only winning one. We were even beaten by the Austrians for crying out loud.
