When times are tough and an agency is in need of a bit of a morale boost, what better way to inspire the troops than getting in rousing orators to garner a bit of robust esprit de corps?

And there is a seemingly endless line of speakers to call upon. Nelson Mandela? Neil Kinnock? Sir Martin Sorrell? Or what about the ex-US President Bill Clinton?

Such were the luminaries theoretically available to senior J. Walter Thompson management - reportedly amazed that the prospect of a new building was not enough to send the troops into convulsions of delight - as they contemplated the next speakers in their series of master classes designed to inspire staff. But who should they settle on but ... Neil and Christine Hamilton.
