DIARY: Mark Copeman beats rivals to be Radio Star

Adland has produced its gleaming new Radio Star! Yes, after weeks of tense competition in the Radio Advertising Bureau's quest to find the next talented young DJ, we finally have a winner.

Congratulations to Twist Media's Mark Copeman, who has won the day. The voting may have been uncomfortably close for the aspiring young DJ produced by the Kiss 100 team, but his pilot wooing a "discerning audience" who "demands more than constant chart music" received the least amount of voting off, meaning he scoops top prize. Picking up only 30.02 per cent of the final tally, he walks away with the grand prize of a trip for two to New York.

Vodafone's Guy Phillipson was a close runner-up, with 32.42 per cent of the votes, while even Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO's tactical voting practices didn't help secure Nikki Burg as the winner. She weighed in with 37.56 per cent of the votes. Still, to ease the passage of defeat, they all won a digital radio. Well done to all those who took part.
