DIARY: Mustoe turns it on as Teddy fails to turn up

It's no secret that adland's gone World Cup bonkers - but when they were negotiating those multi-million-pound deals with those silky skilled stars, the casting directors for Adidas, Nike and Coca-Cola failed to notice some rather more home-grown talent.

Not to be outdone by Ant & Dec, Virgin Radio has recorded its own World Cup tune, Go England, and got its agency, Mustoe Merriman Levy, to produce a video. A host of lookalikes were hired to recreate the drama of an England v Argentina nailbiter and, to reflect the spate of injuries sustained by the England team, were covered in bandages, given crutches or hooked up to drip machines.

"Posh", "Becks", "Sven

and "Ulrika

were just some of the glittering stars to grace the muddy location pitch. And when "Teddy Sheringham" failed to report for duty, MML's Nick Mustoe pulled on his nylons and after an exhaustive pitch-side warm-up and a quick application of hair-dye, toddled on to make up the numbers. Readers, can you spot the difference?
