DIARY: Orr abandons boards and hunts for broads

Many agencies in the London advertising scene have had a torrid time of it in the past few months. But it's when times are hard that the agency big guns step forward with a rousing cry of "once more unto the breach". Either that, or they go skiing at Courchevel.

Among the ski-hungry tourists was a clutch of advertising's finest: WCRS's Julian Hough, Tim Duffy, M&C Saatchi's managing director, and BMP's elder statesman, the joint chief executive Ross Barr.

Never ones to let a review get in the way of a potential powder day, the group headed for the French ski resort for a week on the piste, sheepskin rugs and escargots.

Alas, there was no place on the plane for Leagas Delaney's marketing director, Will Orr. A stalwart member of the group's golfing and skiing trips in the past, Orr passed up the opportunity this year. Advertising's most eligible bachelor has clearly decided that life's too short to hang around with married friends. Apparently, he wants to spend more time on his sex dr ... erm, on his new-business drive. Good for him.
