The postbag at Campaign Towers is often stuffed full of suggested "24 Hours With ..." columns from adland types all eager to share their fascinatingly productive days with the magazine's readership.

So Diary was a little taken aback when Sam Washington and Mark Harris, the executive worldwide creatives of Brothers & Sisters, described a day of doing, well, not much at all. Shockingly, the word BlackBerry doesn't appear once. Instead, the duo admit to arriving at work at 12.10pm, dining on chicken kiev and chips in the pub by 12.35pm, a quick nap, followed by episodes of Columbo and Countdown - to see if Carol Vorderman could creatively inspire them. Love is in the air for the WPP chief Sir Martin Sorrell, who, according to the Evening Standard, is engaged to Cristiana Falcone, the Italian-Swiss head of the media and entertainment industry section of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Those of you who have been tuning into the US TV drama Damages, starring Glenn Close as a high-stakes litigator, may have experienced a shiver of recognition when the character Katie Connor appeared. That's because she is Anastasia Griffith, the sister of the Work Club partner Paddy Griffith, and the second of his siblings to hit the silver screen. Griffith's brother, Jamie Bamber, has also had his fair share of fame, starring in the hit sci-fi TV show Battlestar Galactica as Captain Lee "Apollo" Adama.
