DIARY: Roberts' love of P&G is looking like obsession

Call us a bunch of cynics, but it's becoming even more of a strain reading the brown-nosing speeches posted on the website of advertising's most prolific prophet, Saatchi %26 Saatchi's worldwide chief executive, Kevin Roberts.

We're sure America's finest scholars at Stanford were over the moon to be treated to his effusive insights recently, where he declared his love for the network's client, Procter & Gamble. Now his outpouring has been posted in glorious technicolour on the site. "My relationship with P&G goes back to 1 January 1975, the day I joined, he chokes.

"Great times, intense times. What can I say - I love P&G. I love P&G's scale. I love the ambition of the enterprise. I found out everything important I know about people, business and marketing at P&G, he climaxes. Quite shameless.
