But down at Canary Wharf, the OgilvyOne account manager Chris Russell sees his ambition of standing on an Olympic podium as a very realistic one.
Russell is one of the UK's top sailors, and is hoping to follow in Ben Ainslie's footsteps at London 2012 by grabbing gold in the Laser class.
Already in intensive training for the Games, Russell currently splits his time between working at the agency and working out at the Olympic sailing centre in Weymouth.
"2012 seems a long way away but that time will soon go," he says. "We've got every day mapped out between now and the opening ceremony, and to get two feet on the podium, there's a long, hard road ahead."
