Diary: Savoy's costliest dish

There is a new phenomenon floating around the fabulously ego-led world of media: people auctioning themselves off for lunch.

In an effort to raise money for Comic Relief, Tatler's new editor, Kate Reardon, is tempting people to part with hundreds of quid on eBay by offering her presence "at lunch with you and two of your friends at The Savoy". Bids had reached a whopping £1,682 but, to up the stakes, she is now also offering a luxury spa trip and a photo shoot to be published in Tatler. Now that is worth a bob or two.
