DIARY: The stage is set for the return of Langdon, but one of death or disco?

Browsing through a McCann-Erickson library search, the Diary was surprised to learn that during his days as UK chairman, Ben Langdon had a stage built in the meeting room part of his office. This meant if you were either a client or McCann employee who had to talk things over with Ben the Boss, you'd have the privilege of doing so on a special little platform.

However, Tamara Ingram's first act as Langdon's replacement was to dismantle the stage. Now that he's taking care of the UK office once more, the question is, if Langdon takes back his old office, will he rebuild the stage?

As Langdon is returning to the UK office with renewed power and impetus, there is a sense around the agency that his second stint will be even more dynamic than his first. As such, rumour has it that not only will the stage be rebuilt, but it will also be waxed and accompanied by disco lights and a roller skate hire facility.

However, cynics have suggested that it would be far more useful to build a guillotine on it.
