Diary: Top Gear - Orgasmatron

What did John Brown give his staff at Christmas that left them flushed and grateful? No, it’s not what you think. Except that it is, almost.

What did John Brown give his staff at Christmas that left them

flushed and grateful? No, it’s not what you think. Except that it is,

almost.

Brown’s Yuletide gift was an Orgasmatron, a gadget that originated in

Australia and isn’t as rude as it sounds. In fact, it’s a head massaging

device that’s said to be tops for busting stress, despite the fact that

the configuration of copper prongs gives it the appearance of belonging

in a torture chamber.

The orgasmatron works by stimulating pressure points on the head and

neck, causing a tingling sensation in the head, shoulders, arms or legs

- or frequently all areas at once. According to the promotional

literature, it also ’releases bursts of the body’s energy’ and will

provide ’high levels of entertainment at dinner parties and other social

occasions’.

It is supposed to relieve headaches, tension and other pain and even

improve your learning ability.

The device was invented by someone called Dwayne Lacey in Perth and is

sold over here by his mother, Pam Smith. I’d love to have witnessed that

conversation: ’Mum, can you sell my orgasmatron?’

Orgasmatron - pounds 15 plus pounds 2 p&p
