Diary: Top marks for DDB as RKCR/Y&R flunks Turkey test

Pay attention, class. The new term has just begun and Diary is about to reveal who gets to be teacher's pet - and who has room for improvement - as we announce the results of the 2008 Pick and Turkey test.

DDB London gets the lollipop with half-a-dozen Picks. Nice to see that it isn't only continuing to cut the mustard for long-standing clients such as Volkswagen, but can also turn it on for newer arrivals such as the Financial Times.

And the runner-up? Well, you hardly need to ask. Bartle Bogle Hegarty is never far away when the creative gongs are being handed out. And last year was no exception, with work for Levi's, Audi, Barclaycard and Barnardo's all landing Picks.

Also, lots of gold stars to Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy. A stonking 122-second epic for Hovis (our Campaign of the Year) pretty much picked itself.

But what's to be made of Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R? Truly a year of mixed fortunes, in which a trio of Picks was balanced out by an equal number of Turkeys. Did the dog eat its homework?
