Diary: Turkey of the Week - JWT/Trident

Campaign's phones have been humming with nominations for JWT's new ad for Trident chewing gum to be Turkey of the Week. Francesca Newland will summerise what adland thinks:

"The ad is painfully long and painfully pointless. The endline - 'mastication for the nation' - is not as good as JWT thinks it is. But, worst of all, the stereotypical depiction of an idiot Jamaican is bordering on racist. Trident should remember the furore the words 'Shilpa Poppadom' caused only last month. But that aside, it's just really, really bad."
