Francesca Newland thinks JWT's current television spot for Special K is, well, pretty awful, actually: "This ad opens with a child calling his mother 'a real loser'.

Are we supposed to find it terribly amusing that he, and all of the other cameos in the ad, are actually referring to the fact that she has been losing weight? Geddit? It's an unfunny joke told again and again. Excruciating stuff. And what makes the situation even worse is that the spot seems to have blanket coverage."
