As Bill Clinton, the US President, continues to flounder under a
tidal wave of revelations about alleged indiscretions, it’s nice to see
that advertisers are handling the issue sensitively.
The Birmingham-based Wallis Tomlinson agency has used Clinton’s problems
to reinforce Birmingham’s role as an international business centre and a
place where world leaders gather.
So far, the campaign has used local people called Mick, Dave, Warren and
Larry, but the latest execution features a grey-haired old lady called
Marge. It made us chuckle, but will Clinton see the funny side?
