Digital agencies line up for DoH sex drive

The Department of Health is searching for a digital agency to help promote safe sex among young people.

COI has contacted a number of agencies this week with the brief, which is understood to involve advertising and microsite design for a campaign to address the rise of sexually transmitted diseases, particularly among 18- to 25-year-olds.

The Government has been planning a high-profile push since October 2005, when it retained Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners to its above-the-line account. At the same time, it upped its advertising budget to £50 million in response to figures showing a rise in the number of STDs.

However, no major campaign has broken since the appointment.
