Tequila Option One is rebranding itself as Tequila London in a bid
to create a consistent global brand. The agency has hired nine new
senior staff as part of the drive.
Tequila Option One was created after Option One’s parent, the GGT Group,
acquired BDDP, which owned Tequila, in 1996. The below-the-line
operations merged last May, creating an agency with a turnover of pounds
The most senior of the appointments is Joost Niepoth, who joins as an
associate director on the IBM business. His most recent position was at
BDDP in Holland, where he was also a director.
Ewan Veitch, who was responsible for Guinness Brewing Worldwide at
Marketing Drive, will be the international account director for Rothmans
in South Africa.
Jeremy Taylor, the business development director, said: ’We believe in
the cross-fertilisation of talent and experience between Tequila’s
offices, particularly when it reflects the international nature of a
client such as IBM.’
Three account managers, two account supervisors and two data planners
complete the raft of new staff, coming from a variety of sources
including WWAV Rapp Collins and Barraclough Hall Woolston Gray and, from
the client side, Lloyds TSB and Total Oil.
In the past three weeks, Tequila has also set up a ’fast track’ studio,
where clients can get a fast turnaround of work when little or no art
direction is required.
