The BBDO agency won the brief after a contested pitch that was called at the end of 2014 and handled in-house.
Disney has yet to publicly disclose any details about the content delivery platform, including its launch date.
However, one source described it to Campaign as a "Netflix-style service", and another said that it had been referred to within the company as "Project Horizon".
Campaign has also learned that R/GA London has been working with Disney on the same project, but on digital, for more than a year.
Proximity London and R/GA London declined to comment.
Disney did not respond to requests for comment.
