Dixons parent lines up media pitches

DSG International is gearing up for a review of its media planning and buying arrangements in Europe.

The business, for the retailer previously known as Dixons Stores, is held by Initiative and is being reviewed in markets including Spain and Poland. It does not include the UK media planning and buying business, which is handled by Walker Media.

It is understood the move was precipitated by the appointment of Elizabeth Fagan to the new role of group media director this month. Her responsibilities include managing contact with the group's media and ad agencies.

Fagan was previously the managing director of The Link, the telecoms retailer owned by DSG. It also owns Currys, Dixons and PC World.

DSG International's £100 million creative account is held by M&C Saatchi.

It is believed to be unaffected by the review.

Fagan said: "We are reviewing our international requirements but are working with Initiative on what they are."
