DMA appoints marketing director

- The Direct Marketing Association has appointed Mike Barnes as its first director of marketing.

Barnes joins from Emap, where he worked as both a publisher and a marketing director on mainstream and specialist consumer titles for ten years.

His brief at the DMA will be to manage all aspects of the body's external and internal marketing activity and create an identity for it. He will report to the chief executive, Colin Lloyd.
