DMB&B has created the launch campaign for Tetley tea’s new
packaging which replaces the carton with a soft, resealable bag.
A 30-second spot celebrates the innovation with a rendition of the 60s
hit, Bend it, originally recorded by Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and
The Tetley Teafolk again star in the ad, demonstrating the tactile
qualities of the new packaging with a song-and-dance routine.
Gaffer and Sydney dance with the resealable bag as the kitchen is
transformed into a disco. The ad concludes with the familiar endline:
’That’s better. That’s Tetley.’
Tetley’s latest launch follows the company’s introduction of the
drawstring teabag last year. Barry Cook, managing director of DMB&B,
said: ’Relevant product innovation has always been key to Tetley’s
outstanding business performance.’
The spot was written and art directed by Ollie Robinson and Andy Powell
and animated by Richard Ollive.
Media buying is through Zenith Media. The commercial is being tested in
the HTV region before rolling out across the country.
