Dogs Trust's bleak spot tells the story of a pup who is illegally imported into the country for Christmas.
Following the structure of "The Night Before Christmas", the ad brings to light the horrors of puppy smuggling, from the emotional toil of removing a pup from its mother, to what happens to the mum when all her children have been sold. "Help stop this cruel trade, let’s change the tale," a narrator implores as it comes to an end. It was created by Dhiego Guimarães and directed by Katarina Lundquist through Cardel.
Last year, Dogs Trust fashioned an adorable dog out of cork to highlight the heartbreak of abandoned pets over the festive season.
