It is understood that all elements of MKD Holdings' business, including Sharps Bedrooms and Portland Conservatories, is up for grabs, though a spokeswoman for MKD Holdings denied that there was a review.

The company concentrates its media spend on national press advertising, mainly in the tabloids, with the period up to Christmas being a particularly busy time. The bulk of the spend goes behind the Moben and Dolphin brands.
Last year, Moben fell foul of the Advertising Standards Authority for using an umlaut in its name. The ASA received a complaint that this was misleading as it implied that Moben was a German company. The ASA ruled that the ad was in breach of its code as consumers were likely to assume the company was German rather than part of a Manchester-based company.
