DoubleClick chosen to represent Infoseek in six countries

- DoubleClick has been appointed by the portal and search site, Infoseek, to represent it in France, Spain, UK, Netherlands, Brazil and Mexico.

The move is designed to fuel Infoseek's rapid international expansion plans.

According to Andy Mitchell, the managing director of DoubleClick UK, "sites like InfoSeek offer advertisers huge potential in terms of reach, especially as more and more consumers use the internet for the first time and sometimes start their activity from a hub like Infoseek."

DoubleClick has established operations with local advertising sales forces in 15 countries and sells advertising to over 2,300 advertisers worldwide. It represents more than 1,300 sites including Fast Company, Macromedia, EDGAR Online, Sega Europe, MTV Europe and Wired.
