- Internet advertising company, DoubleClick, has signed a marketing alliance with beenz.com, the company that two months ago launched an online web currency.
The agreement will see DoubleClick promote the "beenz" currency and encourage its customer websites to join the beenz programme and distribute the currency. In addition, beenz.com will be promoted across DoubleClick's network.
Beenz are electronic credits which provide online consumers with spending power for simply being on the net. Consumers earn beenz in a variety of ways, including online shopping or simply visiting a website.
Jonathan Shapiro, vice president of business development at DoubleClick, said: "Beenz.com has developed an innovative marketing concept that is a natural compliment to advertising on the web. The universal appeal of beenz makes it a valuable marketing tool for our sites and a fun way for consumers to interact on the web."
