DraftFCB to sign Wilmont as creative chief

LONDON - DraftFCB has poached Naked’s Logan Wilmont to be its new executive creative director.

The hiring fills a role which has been vacant since Andrew Fraser quit the agency to join Rapier as its executive creative director in April.

Wilmont was executive creative director of Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners in New York before returning to the UK in 2004. After a brief stint at Boymeetsgirl, the ill-fated agency co-founded by Andy Law, Wilmont has been working at Naked as a creative director.

At DraftFCB, Wilmont will be responsible for all creative output across its advertising, digital and DM departments. He will report into Nigel Jones, president of DraftFCB's London office and Jonathan Harries, the agency's global chief creative director in Chicago.

Wilmont started his career at BMP DDB in 1982, spending time as a creative at TBWA before helping to set up Still Price Court Twivy D'Souza in 1986.

He moved to the US in 1994, where he worked as a creative director at Merkley Newman Harty and, later Euro RSCG's Messner Vetere Berger MacNamee Schmetterer, before joining Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners in 1998.

DraftFCB declined to comment on the appointment. Wilmont did not respond to calls.
