Durex centralises with McCann-Erickson Worldwide

- London International Group has consolidated its £20 million ($33 million) global Durex advertising and media account with McCann-Erickson Worldwide. The London office of McCanns will be the lead shop.

McCanns already handled LIG in most markets around the world, but it has picked up several new markets, including Italy and Spain.

One of McCanns' first tasks will be to push the Durex brand in the US. LIG is planning an aggressive expansion programme for Durex, which will come at the expense of some sub brands. In the US, the Ramses and Sheik brands will face the axe.

McCanns will also begin work on Durex's first global advertising campaign, which is expected to launch next April.
