Dyke to begin BBC review

Dyke began his BBC career yesterday. For his first five months, he will shadow the out-going director-general, Sir John Birt.

The corporation's directorate employs around 5,000 people, and is responsible for commissioning and scheduling for TV, radio and online educational programming.
