Ear to the Ground opens in Brazil

Ear to the Ground has launched a division in Brazil ahead of the 2014 football World Cup and the 2016 Olympics.

The company says it expects to handle major clients during the sporting events through its new operation based in Rio de Janiero.

The division adds to Ear to the Ground's exisiting offices in London and Manchester. It will be led by Rafael Rocha, who has worked in sports marketing at Brazilian companies Garra Sports Marketing and Bracco Internacional.

Brazilian football team Fluminese – the current champion in the country's top league – has appointed Ear to the Ground for its activations in 2013, after the agency delivered fan engagement events for the club.

Ear to the Ground began to assess the Brazil market four years ago, when Rio won the right to hold the 2016 summer Olympics. 

The agency has a history of sports activation and has worked with UK Trade & Investment on an export programme to develop new business and networking opportunities in the Brazilian football and communications industries.
