EasyGroup is drawing up a shortlist of agencies for the pounds 6 million media account of Easy.com, a comparison shopping site set for launch by the end of the year.
The group, led by the Greek entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Iannou, is in discussions with Carat, Starcom Motive and its regular agency Matters Media about an offline branding campaign for the site, and has spoken to MediaVest, Profero and Optimedia about online projects. Appointments are expected by the end of the month.
The brand extension follows on from the launch of EasyEverything internet cafes and the car rental service EasyRentaCar, and takes on the rival price comparison company Kelkoo.com.
EasyGroup's director of corporate affairs, James Rothnie, confirmed the media review, but said that the group's tradition of using in-house creative was unlikely to change. 'We see marketing as a core competency and that's why we're interested in holding it in-house,' he said.
