EDF awards Euro RSCG its €80m European account

LONDON - Euro RSCG Worldwide has won the €80m pan-European EDF consumer account. The appointment follows a final shoot-out against Ogilvy.

EDF called the pitch for its consumer account in June and shortlisted DDB, Grey, Publicis, Ogilvy and Euro RSCG C&O for the business. Grey, DDB and Publicis, the incumbent on the account, were dropped at the second round. Euro RSCG C&O previously had a place on the EDF roster, handling the corporate communications account.
Laurent Habib, the Euro RSCG C&O chief executive, said: "We are thrilled to be working with one of the most passionate companies in France. It is an immense honour to be given this opportunity, and it is an incredible way to wrap up 2006."
The win completes an impressive new business year for Euro RSCG, which has added over $2bn in new billings in the last 12 months.
