Years of declining circulation meant the magazine had fallen a long way from the dizzy heights of its 93,000-plus sales in the 90s. But the title was the first of its type: a magazine for the modern man, and spawned many successful imitators. How many of its erstwhile rivals will suffer the same sad fate?
