EDITORIAL: BBC not at home with reality TV talent

Does the woeful debut of the BBC's Fame Academy suggest viewers are suffering from an overdose of reality TV? Perhaps.

More likely, though, is that the BBC isn't the natural home for this kind of programming and that ITV, with its firmly established Pop Idol format, has the experience, the expertise and the established stars to prevent the punters reaching for the remote control.
