Editorial: Big ideas are key to Man U glory for Daley

Lee Daley, whose shock transfer from Saatchi & Saatchi to Manchester United was unveiled last week, is known as a blue-sky thinker, rather than as a details man.

But that may not be such a bad thing for a club looking for the big ideas that will turn it into a global brand with an income to match.

It's always said of United that winning the European Cup would prompt more dancing in the streets of Guildford than Salford. If Daley can get them stamping their feet (and buying the shirts) in Rangoon, he may prove to be a better playmaker than Michael Carrick.
