Editorial: Chips will be in our thoughts at Christmas

Remember when the BBC picked Nessun Dorma to introduce its 1990 World Cup coverage and put the Puccini aria into everybody's head?

Well, the phenomenon might be about to occur again, albeit for something a little more prosaic - McCain's Oven Chips. Beattie McGuinness Bungay is featuring Chips, Glorious Chips in a new TV campaign and plans to integrate the song into Christmas pantomimes. But watch out McCain. In true panto style, you can bet the health lobby will be "behind you"!
