Editorial: Hockney exit risks undoing D&AD status

D&AD has moved a long way from the debt-ridden and chaotic organisation it once was. Having totally reinvented itself, it plays an important role in the education of young creatives, while D&AD Pencils remain highly prized.

Now Michael Hockney has stepped down as the chief executive amid reports of tensions among senior executives. After all it has done in the past few years, D&AD must work quickly to ensure internal politics don't lay it low again.
