Editorial: Rose Hackney Barber closure is no crisis

The closure of Rose Hackney Barber after 23 years should not be taken as any indication of a crisis in production. Rather, it shows how lucrative the business has become for a select group of directors who command an increasing share of billings. That they would want to establish a smaller outfit with a narrower roster and a greater cut of the profits should come as no surprise in an industry where budgets and mark-up have had every inch of slack cut.
