poster - rightly acclaimed as the best of the century - is how few
people actually saw it on a billboard. It appeared on less than 20 sites
during the run-up to the 1979 general election at a cost to the Tories
of pounds 50,000.
But how well the double-barrelled message and image of a dole queue have
transcended the years.
