Editorial: Split leadership decision could backfire

There's nothing like a fudge to get a newly merged agency off to a bad start.

Howard Draft has decided, after months of deliberation, to split the leadership of the merged Draft FCB London between the former leaders of its constituent parts. Nigel Jones, the FCB chief, couldn't be less like John Minnec, his Draft counterpart. No doubt the network will argue this is an advantage - that they both bring different skills to the party. That's the positive spin, but it can also prolong a cultural divide, lead to power struggles and widespread infighting.
