EE "iPhone envy" by Saatchi & Saatchi

EE continues its "Network envy" platform with a spot starring a moustachioed brand ambassador Kevin Bacon, an iPhone 12 and a man called Doug.

"I can’t believe you’re finally mine," Bacon says to his iPhone 12 while holding it like a baby bird in his hand.

A passerby (Doug) watches Bacon and his new phone through a window, prompting the pair to have one of those non-verbal connections that only comes along once in a lifetime. Bacon and Doug weep and ultimately part as the Footloose actor encourages the public to become "the envy of everyone" through buying the phone on EE’S 5G network.

The TV ad comes alongside digital, social and out-of-home activity. It was created by Philip Gull and Helen Giles, and directed by Steve Miller through Radical Media. Media is handled by Essence.

Earlier this year, EE launched its "Network envy" brand platform with a spot starring spoken word poet Hussain Manawer.
