Heartbroken consumer Doug returns to the small screen for the latest instalment of EE's "Network envy" series.
The ad shows Doug (who previously made an emotional connection with brand ambassador Kevin Bacon in a spot promoting "iPhone envy") as he sits on a park bench. Dealing with the perils of "rubbish connection", Doug watches as Bacon enjoys his new phone. It ends as Bacon tells viewers "don’t be a Doug" by joining "the UK’s most reliable network".
The work was created by Francesco Grandi, Roderigo Castellari and Helen Giles, and directed by Steve Miller through Radical Media. Media is handled by Essence.
EE kicked off its "Network envy" brand platform last year with a spot starring spoken word poet Hussain Manawer.
