Eight sporting events for 2015

The World Cup, Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games may not be returning, but 2015 is still set to be an exciting year for fans of sport.

Cricket World Cup in Australia/New Zealand

14 February - 29 March

The ICC Cricket World Cup will continue the excitement of Fifa 2014 into the new year, albeit with a smaller ball and longer matches. Games will be held throughout Australia and New Zealand and big name partnerships with Pepsi, Emirates and LG suggest we will be seeing some great activations.

The Crabbie’s Grand National

9-11 April

The iconic horserace returns for its 175th year to Liverpool, with Crabbie’s in the title sponsor slot for the second year. Other partners include Molson Coors, shopping centre Liverpool One and Betfred.

The Virgin Money London Marathon

26 April

The capital’s ever-popular race is back for April, as is the Virgin Money London Marathon Expo, which will be held at the Excel Centre for four days. The latter will feature the Virgin Money London Marathon Lounge, where guests can relax and enjoy a programme of inspiring guest speakers.

Tour de Yorkshire

1-3 May

Following the success of the Tour de France’s 2014 Grand Depart from Leeds, cycling’s governing body Union Cycliste International has confirmed a new professional race will be take place in Yorkshire. The ‘Tour de Yorkshire’ will be run by tourist board Welcome to Yorkshire and the Amuary Sport Organisation and supported by British Cycling.

Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada

6 June – 5 July

Thought international football was over until 2018? You’d be wrong. The World Cup is back, this time with women scoring the goals in Canada. Visa, Coca-Cola and Adidas are all signed up as marketing affiliates.

Velothon Wales

14 June

More than 10,000 cyclists have already signed up in the pre-registration stages of the first Velothon Wales – a 120km route through the Welsh countryside. The event will be hosted in conjunction with a cycling expo in Cardiff City Hall, which will feature a range of brands exhibiting sports clothing, equipment, accessories and more.

Goodwood Festival of Speed

25-28 June

Petrolheads will descend on Chichester for four days of car experiences and celebrations. Alongside a raft of automotive of brands, partners include Cartier, Sky Sports and Tag Heuer. Four corportate hospitality packages are available: The GP Club, the Gurney Pavilion, the Hill Pavilion and the Library Lawn.

Rugby World Cup

18 September – 31 October

Arguably the biggest British sporting event for 2015, the Rugby World Cup promises an exciting host of matches throughout the UK. Venues on board include Twickenham, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wembley Stadium and the Olympic Stadium, London, while Land Rover, Heineken and DHL are among the tournament’s sponsors.
