- Casualties among senior management at UK pay-TV broadcaster BSkyB continue to rise as Bruce Steinberg, Elizabeth Murdoch's number two, becomes the latest senior director to leave the company.
In a statement Sky said Steinberg, who as general manager of Sky Networks was responsible for the recent relaunch of the Sky's premium movie channels, had resigned to pursue 'other opportunities'.
However, it is understood that the movie channel relaunch had not won favour with new chief executive, Tony Ball, and that Steinberg had fallen our with Murdoch, who is managing director of Sky Networks.
He is the third executive to quit BSkyB since Mark Booth, former CEO, quit in the summer, shortly followed by Ian West, head of Sky Entertainment.
