Rocket has been appointed to handle pan-European media planning and
buying for the fashion sportswear brand, Elle Active, as the joint brand
licensees, Actif Sportif and Hartstone Leathergoods, seek to boost
Rocket will work with Alan Page, a former director of Harari Page, who
has been appointed creative consultant to Elle Active. Previously,
advertising and media were developed in-house.
Elle Active, a licensed brand from Hachette, which owns Elle magazine,
was launched in the UK last year through department stores, independent
outlets and mail order. The range includes sports and leisurewear
produced by Actif Sportif and bags and accessories made by Hartstone
Rocket will develop media activity initially around magazine advertising
and has been briefed to create a strategy which will help establish a
strong market share for the brand by the year 2000.
